There are two types of Flying Squirrels found in America: the Northern and the Southern. Northern Flying Squirrels are larger in size, but they are similar in appearance. Therefore, it is very easy to mistake an adult Southern species with a young Northern squirrel. Don't buy a pet for sale, if you have babies in the family, as rodents may cause infections.
